Windows 10: Wifi and Airplane Mode Issue after using SAFE mode

My laptop's Windows is having some issues after I booted it using safe mode settings from the bios.The airplane mode is turned on and the option to turn it off has been greyed out or disabled.The wifi is also not working and showing below given-I have tried troubleshooting the Wi-Fi adapter and it shows up something it can't fix or identify.I have tried resetting network settings and also checked up wifi adapter.

problem was:

pc cant connect to wifi cos airplane mode randomly turned on by itself

you can google to see why computer does that - microsoft seems to have never fixed this

fixed this by turning off something in services (this goes to show how many services are bad and should be off by default, again a long-standing microsoft problem that they've never made better)


new problem:

the wifi icon on botton left changed to the airplane mode icon

and when old problem was fixed, airplane mode icon is stuck like that

what are steps to fix?

what are troubleshoot this?

I am sorry to hear about the inconvenience. If you Toggle Airplane mode to ON/OFF does it still work? If it just stays ON even after toggling there could be a glitch with the airplane mode icon since it shows you are on Airplane mode but you can still connect to the Wifi network. I suggest removing it from the action center and adding it again.

Here's how:

1) Press windows key + A (This opens up the Action center)

2) Click the pencil icon to edit the list

3) Unpin Airplane mode.

4) Close Action center

While still connected to Wifi, try the same steps again.

1) Press windows key + A (This opens up the Action center)

2) Click the pencil icon to edit the list

3) Select Add

4) Add Airplane mode to the list

5) Toggle it ON/OFF and see if it functions normally this time.

If it doesn't. I suggest running a system file check and an image repair of Windows.

Here's how:

Run System File Checker

1) Press Windows key + S, this will open search

2) Type cmd, run command prompt as administrator

3) Enter this command and press enter: sfc /scannow

4) Wait for the process to finish and reboot your computer.

5) Check if the issue still persists.

Run windows image fix.

1) Press Windows key + S, this will open search

2) Type cmd, run command prompt as administrator

3) Enter this command and press enter: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

4) Wait for the process to finish and reboot your computer.

5) Check if the issue still persists.

2. What I noticed after much trial and error is that a restart triggers this problem... whereas a complete shutdown and a boot eliminates it. THIS SCREAMS WIN10 BUG
