Windows 10: wifi browsing fails on Lenovo-T420S since change of router

Hello,

I recently upgraded my xfinity router for higher throughput. One of the aspects of this router is that it can do 802.11 AC. The router is setup so that at 5 GHZ band it supports 802.11 n and ac while at 2.4 GHZ band it supports 802.11 g and n.


Ever since i did this my Lenovo T420S laptop has stopped showing the SSID broadcast by that router. The weird thing is that the laptop does support 802.11 n, so there is no reason why this should happen. This is the only device which does this, every other device inside the house is working correctly. I have a linksys router connected using ethernet cable and T Mobile hotspot which is untethered. This laptop shows the SSID broadcast by both these. It fails only with the one from the xfinity router.


The laptop is running the latest version of 64 bit windows 10 and has 1x1 11b/g/n wireless Lan PCI Express half mini card adapter. I would love to know what is going on. Is there something different in the browsing protocol because of the router that is causing this? Seems unlikely as every other device works. There is some shortcoming in the laptop/wifi card . Havent heard a peep from Lenovo. Hoping Microsoft can help.

Drivers missing on Lenovo T420

Almost all my drivers are missing after installing Windows 7 Pro from Windows 7 Enterprise. My internet is down, I can't adjust my brightness and in my device manager are written some weird texts as shown in the picture. Can anyone provide me drivers for
my Windows 7 Pro (64bit) Lenovo T420 any drivers, especially for my internet and Bluetooth. It's also worth noting that there's only one Network driver that I watched some videos and managed to install. Please help me out as fast as you can. Also I know the
Lenovo drivers website here:

But there are just too many and I don't know what to do. Help would be appreciated (at least enough to get my wireless internet up and running)

Windows.old and Lenovo Recovery on Lenovo T420

I'm using Windows 10 on my T420. I was just wondering if I can still use the Lenovo Recovery partition without the Windows.old folder. If I can't, then that's okay. I'll just keep both.
