Windows 10: Wifi button in Windows 10 Settings has switched itself off and will not switch on again.

I have an HP Pavilion 24-XA All-In-One Desktop PC that was working fine but suddenly lost connexion to the internet while I was using it. When I checked Settings the Wifi button was switched to off, which I had not done manually. Although I can move the button to on the computer does not reconnect to the chosen network. I looked at Airplane mode, but it had not been activated accidently, also the Wifi button on that screen was greyed out and cannot be activated.I have tried restarting the computer and turning it off and leaving it for 24 hours, but when it starts up again it does not reconnect

I went through all the steps several times and still the wifi switch will not stay on

I am using an hp laptop with window 10 os. My wifi button does not switch on wifi nor cant switch it on by manual settings. Even if i try switching on to manual
mode it returns to off mode automatically. Airplane mode is also off. Not able to fix the problem.

Wifi switch won't turn on

I tried steps 1 & 2 using a wired connection, to no avail.

I can not switch wireless adapter on with FN F8 nor with direct key on my keyboard nor can I switch it on toggling the button in Network and Internet settings. When I click the button it just jumps back to off.

Tried updating drivers and all other suggestions I could find on the web. I am at a loss...
