Windows 10: Wifi connected icon instead of limited access icon

Good afternoon,I have local Wifi not connected to internet, but I still want to see signal strength in status bar. Now I have to click on network status icon to see signal strength, because computer is not connected to internet.Is it possible to change rule ie in regedit for deciding whether wifi icon is shown as "fully connected with internet" to some internal IP address?Thank you,Jan

Win 10 wifi connected but wrong notification icon displayed

I'm connected to the internet using wifi. The system tray shows a rectangle icon instead of the wifi icon. when I hover on the icon it shows the name of the wifi connection and I have internet access. I've tried troubleshooting the network but I'm told
everything is working properly.

Any suggestions appreciated.

what if you try a simple disabling of the wifi network connection then enable it again and see if the icons change? It shows the Broadband connection as disabled anyways, so I cant think that would effect the icon status of the enabled wi-fi.

Edit: I think I solved it by deleting the 'Broadband connection' altogether

Wth the pc got confused? I was connecting through wifi yet wifi says not connected and broadband connection was connected? *Wtf :wtf:
