WiFi connection always lost upon return from sleep

This concerns a desktop computer in our home, Windows 10 Pro, v1903, build xxxxx.476

We have lots of devices constantly or often on our home wifi - Windows 7 and 10 computers, Apple products, "smart" thermostat, and iphone and Android devices.

    Generally no issues.

But one desktop computer in our home, when waking from sleep, either doesn't immediately connect to wifi, or takes unacceptably long to do so. I can "force" the connection by manually connecting, but the person using that computer doesn't know how to and would have great difficulty learning.

I have tried the suggestion in lose wifi when back from sleep mode (in fact, the "allow computer to turn off wireless adapter" was already unchecked - problem persists whether this box is unchecked or checked).

On Microsoft's sites, it's easy to find copy/pasted "cookbook" solutions that involve a pretty tiresome set of diagnostic steps, and I realize that a systematic runthrough of often-obvious ideas is often the best approach.

Still, other than the network adapter power management tab referenced above, I'm looking for some other "good bang for the buck," high-probability-of-success solutions.

One, I know, would be to restart the computer at the end of the day, versus letting it go to sleep overnight. But I'm still curious why the wifi works after a restart, but not after a wakeup.

    :)

Lost internet connection after upgrading to Windows 10.

after downloading windows 10, i had no internet wifi connections. tried almost everything from community.

I downloaded talent driver network software to an

external drive using another computer and then ran the set up on non internet computer. Wifi networks reappeared and I was able to get on the internet and download some apps but connects lost by the next day when turned on computer, Again unable to get
on internet and network adapters not listed. Talent driver software no longer effective.

tried INFO GROUND(/) STEP 1. NO CHANGED...no connections listed.

thanks fo trying to help. Any other suggestions

When will the wifi connectivity problems be solved?

OK, so the Windows 10 engineers bollixed up the wifi connectivity part of the operating system. Everybody knows that by now. It seems they are making some progress in resolving it. Now, instead of seeing "Secured, No Internet" on your list of wifi connections, you see "Connected, Secured" EXCEPT no webpages will load. So you really aren't connected. It does seem to be a step in the right direction. Does anybody know when they plan on a full and complete repair of this screw up of epic proportions?

WiFi connection always lost upon return from sleep

Losing Wifi connection while in Sleep.

my adapter is Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection (but it seems to not be limited to Intel adapters only)

device manager claims it is the latest and working properly...

however, every time the machine wakes from sleep, there is no wifi connection, and it is unable to re-connect.

I have to use the "troubleshoot problems", which will connect to the wifi network and it tell me that it has "Reset the wireless adapter", and the wifi will work just fine till the next time it falls asleep, i.e. the troubleshooting only works once, and it
    is not a permanent fix.

    Found a possible solution here:

    http://www.kapilarya.com/fix-network-connection-lost-when-windows-8-goes-to-sleep

but have not yet tested it, waiting for next sleep...

however, it seems more of a workaround to the sleep issue by not allowing the adapter to sleep, rather then a permanent solution.

I never had this sleep/disconnect issue with XP or Win7 on this same machine...

I would still like to have a fix from Microsoft that allows the adapter to sleep, and properly wake up.
