Windows 10: Wifi connection fail once PIN and Fingerprint are set

Hello,recently an user started to have wifi connection issuewifi disabled once the user set PIN and fingerprint option to unlock windows.Tested:- device with OS windows 10 and windows 11- various devices- drivers checkedDetails:- internet connection only via LAN cable- the issue start once the PIN and Fingerprint options are set up- no other users have similar problem- checked firewall and group policies- negativeAnybody has any idea that should be checked/ done in order to solve this issue? Unable to Set Up Pin or Windows Hello Fingerprint

Hi! Thank you for the quick and comprehensive response. Unfortunately, I tried every suggestion you provided, and none of them worked. I believe that there are no issues with the hardware or drivers for the fingerprint sensor, and that all the issues are
coming from Windows refusing to accept that I have actually created a PIN. I went down the list, did everything, even did the Repair Install, which didn't work, then tried deleting the Ngc folder and restarting, which didn't help either. It still only says
"Add" under the options for PIN, and when I go to setup fingerprint sensor, everything works fine up until it tells me that I need to create a PIN to use Hello. I already have created a PIN, and I sign into my computer using it just fine, but it appears that
the settings application does not see that. Any other suggestions?

 

W10, XPS9560, Fingerprint set-up fails

Since a few days/weeks (not sure), my fingerprint login isn't working anymore. Also the PIN login gave an error. Might be caused by some update. I've had this before, but it always fixed itself after some time.

I followed some instructions on the internet: Deleting the Ngc folder from C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft. Still no joy. Windows and hardware drivers are fully up-to-date. I'm currently stuck with the following:

1. Setting up a fingerprint login, without having a PIN set yet: During initial fingerprint setup, I must press my fingerprint scanner multiple times (therefore, we can confim the scanner is working correctly). After that, I get prompted with the requirement
to setup a PIN as well. I enter my windows password, a new PIN and then continue. The set-up window closes without a confirmation. I still have the Settings/Sign-in options screen in front of me, and under Fingerprint I only have the option 'Set-up' (no 'remove',
so nothing has been set-up) and under PIN the option 'add' (no 'change', so no PIN has been set-up).

2. Setting up a PIN first, then followed by setting up fingerprint login: Setting up PIN works fine, logging in with PIN is confirmed to work as well. When pressing 'Set up' under 'Fingerprint' I have to enter my PIN. Afterwards I am stuck in the Welcome
to windows hello screen. Only button available is 'cancel'.

Any suggestions?

Windows 11 forgets Hello settings - pin and fingerprint

Hi,

I have a desktop with external fingerprint sensor. The machine is 4 years old and worked with fingerprint unlock and windows 10 since I got it. After updating to Windows 11 about two months ago it worked as well.

Since 3 days ago, it seems to completely forget the entire hello enrollment, sometimes within hours, sometimes overnight.

When it fails, waking the screen only shows the password option, not the pin or the fingerprint. If I go to hello settings, it's back to the same state as a clean install with Hello not activated. Some failure results in the complete loss of all Hello settings.

I've tried re-enrolling a few times - always successful, resulting in the expected behaviors until the next seemingly random fail. This makes me believe it's not hardware related - no issues in device manager and no hardware driver updates in the recent history.

I've followed the suggested remedy here (Windows Hello keeps losing PIN, fingerprint and Facial recognition - Microsoft Community) with the same result.

Can you help me troubleshoot this?
