Windows 10: WiFi Connectivity Issues after Update/Boot/Sleep

this is an issue I've been struggling with on/off since about May/June of 2020. I connect to my WiFi using a network adapter. I have gone through three adapters in not even a year due to this issue. After random Windows updates, or sometimes even just when I'm forced to reboot my PC for another reason such as finishing the installation of another program, my WiFi connection will cause major problems after. I tend to keep my PC in sleep mode for the most part, but once this issue has started after a reboot of my PC, it will also happen after waking it up from sleep.


When I boot my PC up, the WiFi will only connect after a few seconds of waiting. After, it usually tends to stay connected for a few seconds, but then it randomly stops working - sometimes it will still show as "connected" and I have to disconnect and reconnect to get it to work, and sometimes the network is entirely disconnected and I have to manually connect to the network again and pray it works.


Things I already have tried:


- Uninstalling and reinstalling/updating the adapter's drivers both the manufacturer and the Windows-provided drivers, neither work

- Deleting the already setup connection to my router and then reconnecting again

- Resetting the router

- Checking the integrity of the Windows files never showed any errors that needed fixing

- Unchecking the power management option for the adapter so it doesn't get turned off to save power

- Forgetting the network and reconnecting to it

- Using network reset


The only thing that temporarily fixes the issue is to literally buy another network adapter, for whatever reason, and even then I know that it'll undoubtedly start acting up again sooner or later. Mind you, it's only this PC that has this issue. All other devices such as my old Windows 7 desktop, two Windows 10 laptops, and several other devices such as smartphones and gaming consoles maintain a stable internet connection even when this desktop loses it. The adapters are also not broken, they all work perfectly with other devices. Does anyone else have a suggestion on what else to do? I'm currently tempted to go through the ordeal of buying and laying a 20 m LAN cable through the house in the hopes that LAN won't have the same issues, but at the same time I'm not very optimistic and I'd really love to get behind whatever is causing this mess.

• What is the Version and Build of Windows 10 currently installed? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)

• What is the make and model of the PC?
  

• Are you aware of any changes on the PC prior to this issue?

WiFi connection always lost upon return from sleep

This concerns a desktop computer in our home, Windows 10 Pro, v1903, build xxxxx.476

We have lots of devices constantly or often on our home wifi - Windows 7 and 10 computers, Apple products, "smart" thermostat, and iphone and Android devices.

Generally no issues.

But one desktop computer in our home, when waking from sleep, either doesn't immediately connect to wifi, or takes unacceptably long to do so. I can "force" the connection by manually connecting, but the person using that computer doesn't know how to and would have great difficulty learning.

I have tried the suggestion in lose wifi when back from sleep mode (in fact, the "allow computer to turn off wireless adapter" was already unchecked - problem persists whether this box is unchecked or checked).

On Microsoft's sites, it's easy to find copy/pasted "cookbook" solutions that involve a pretty tiresome set of diagnostic steps, and I realize that a systematic runthrough of often-obvious ideas is often the best approach.

Still, other than the network adapter power management tab referenced above, I'm looking for some other "good bang for the buck," high-probability-of-success solutions.

One, I know, would be to restart the computer at the end of the day, versus letting it go to sleep overnight. But I'm still curious why the wifi works after a restart, but not after a wakeup.

 

When will the wifi connectivity problems be solved?

I've got 4 systems connecting via wireless; all adapters are different makes; all have zero issues, and two of them are old (wireless-G only). Most every issue I have seen with wireless connections has been driver-related. (Or, impending router failure.) I would suggest identifying your adapter model/make, and searching for different drivers that you can try out. And, sometimes an older driver works better than a newer one (just had this issue on a system I was working on yesterday). Also, verify you have these same connection issues when connecting to different routers, just to rule that out.
