Windows 10: Wifi direct miracast while using 802.1x

We have a Miracast device that I am trying to test.I am unable to connect to Miracast while my PC is connected to our 802.1x SSID.If the Miracast device is not on any network, I can connect.If I am connected to 802.11, there are no issues.The PC I am using is running Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, with no domain. I've tried with the firewall on and off, and there is no antivirus software.

Enable PIN entry for Miracast wireless mirroring via WiFi Direct

I am looking for possible solution to enable PIN entry upon every Miracast connection between PC to Miracast Receivers.

Based on Miracast Mirroring protocol, PIN authentication is only possible if connecting Miracast over MS-MICE. For Miracast over WiFi Direct, the PIN entry will only occur during the first connection, and Windows will cache its PIN from subsequent connection onwards until the laptop or Miracast receiver recycle its power.

If I want to enable PIN entry on Miracast via WiFi Direct, does Microsoft has any hidden Registry configuration to allow users to enter PIN on every Miracast session?
Is there any possible solution to work around this Microsoft behaviour in not caching the PIN?

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

My laptop is running on latest Windows 10 Pro 21H1 version Build 19043.1023.

 

Does Miracast (or Wifi-Direct) require WPS?

Win10 Home Version 21H2 (OS Build 19044.2130) (appreciate all replies) Checking security issues of using Miracast from PC to TV. It appears Miracast is based on Wifi-Direct technology and requires the use of WPS (Wifi-Protection-Setup) *1-> Or did I miss something in that summation? WPS's low digit PIN easier to hack, has some dismal reviews on the web. I do see where some Miracast enabled TVs offer safety facets like individual device lock out, temporary connections, some also with temporary pins that somewhat limit vulnerabilities. *2-> So can one implement Miracast without using WPS, or do we just have to examine each device's implementation on this? *3-> (How to totally Disable WPS) I've always have disabled WPS on my Router and other IOT devices. But since Miracast and Wifi-Direct can form an Ad-Hoc Peer to Peer, do you need to (or how to) disable WPS in a Windows laptop also?

 

Miracast Problem with Microsoft wifi direct virtual adapter


i m using win10 ver 1803. connectivity problem while using miracast. after doing lots of research i found the problem with Microsoft Wifi Direct Virtual Adapter.

My System Mac address is ba:81:98:26:20:c8. My system is showing Two Wifi direct virtual adapter,1. Microsoft WiFi Direct virtual adapter - MAC Add - ba:81:98:26:20:c92. Microsoft WiFi Direct virtual adapter # 2 - MAC Add - ba:81:98:26:20:c8Whenever i try to connect with my smart tv, My tv shows " connecting with MAC address ba:81:98:26:20:c9" and stuck on this message.If my tv shows "connecting with MAC address ba:81:98:26:20:c8" then it will work perfectly.Now you will ask how i know? I know this when i installed win 10 ver 1603 and my system did not start updating i tried miracast with my tv and on that time it was working like charm and the message was showing on my screen was "connecting with MAC address ba:81:98:26:20:c8".
