Windows 10: WiFi disabled during sleep

I've recently tried to download a large file onto a USB drive to update my car's mapping. During this, I've noticed that when the laptop goes to sleep, the WiFi connection is disabled and no download progress is made. On waking it, the WiFi connection is momentarily unavailable and reconnects as usual.I've looked at several articles and tried disabling power saving for all my network adapters in Power Management; changing power saving mode to 'maximum performance' in advanced settings of Power Options; and disabling and re-enabling my WiFi network adapter. However, none of these solutions have

Win7 Pro Laptop crashes when resumes from sleep

Ok almost positive it related to the wifi card/driver. If I disable it in the device manager my laptop sleeps and resumes just fine.

So I guess first step would to be try to find a different driver and if that doesnt work I guess I can replace it. Used mini pci-e wifi cards are pretty cheap.

 

Wifi completely disabled

It seems that your wireless card may have been disabled or could be uninstalled. To help sort out this issue, I suggest that you restart your laptop first. Once the laptop is back on, check if your WiFi is reconnected. If not, check your laptop's Device
Manager and see if the wireless card is detected. Follow these steps:

• Right-click the Windows key and click Device Manager.
• Expand Network adapters and look for your WiFi adapter.
• If it's there, right-click it and click Properties.
• Check the Device status.

If the device status shows that the device is working properly, then check if the Airplane mode on your laptop is turned on. Just press the
Windows key + A to open Action Center. If it's on, then turn it off and see if WiFi is working.

Hello.

Does disabling the HID-Complaint Touch Screen driver resolves the issue? If yes, we suggest that you disable it and see if your device go into Sleep mode after a period of inactivity.

We also suggest to check if the settings of the Power Options of your device are set so that the device will go into Sleep mode after a period of time. You may follow the steps below to check is Sleep mode is enabled on your device:

• Press the Windows button + X, then click on
  Power Options.
• Click Change when the computer
  sleeps.
• Change the settings to your preferred settings.
