Windows 10: WiFi disappeared

My WiFi has disappeared. I’ve tried what several articles and YouTube videos have suggested, still nothing. The last try was device manager>network adapters and no wireless adapter. Then selected view hidden and 2 Microsoft wireless adapters were shown, greyed out. The article said to uninstall them and restart. That should have reinstalled the adapters, but instead they are gone, not even under hidden. I’m at my wits end. Please don’t ask for screenshots as I can’t get on the internet on the computer. Thanks.

Wifi Option Disappearing on computer.

• Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?
• Have you installed all the pending Windows updates?

Wifi adapter disappears - goes 'hidden'


Running Windows 10 on an Acer laptop. Over the past month, the wifi connection dropped without explanation/warning.

First time, the adapter was visible in Device Manager (with a yellow triangle next to it). An interent search found the suggestion to uninstall it and restart. That worked.

Today, the connection dropped again. In Device Manager at first I could not see the wifi adapter listed. I clicked to see hidden devices and found the adapter and the Bluetooth (which I had not noticed was missing).

I again uninstalled, restarted, and both the wifi and bluetooth have returned.

Anyone any ideas as to what is happening, why it's happening, and what I need to do, please?

I have attached a screenshot of the DM windows as it is now, showing the wifi adapter name, etc.

WiFi Sign In, Box to sign in disappears.

When trying to enter a password for a WiFi, the box disappears within 3 seconds or so.

I am not very computer literate, so if you could help, but in an easy step by step guide, THANKS.

I have Windows 10.
