Windows 10: WiFi Disappearing from Laptop Entirely

Hello, so today I was playing a game like usual. I've been playing for 2 months now. Suddenly I got disconnected. When I checked my WiFi, my network appeared so I clicked it. Then it said, "Can't connect to this network". After a few seconds the WiFi disappeared completely on my laptop. After I restarted the laptop, the WiFi worked again for 5 minutes, then the same thing happened. Suddenly disconnected, then the WiFi disappeared.I have removed the "Allow this Computer to turn of this device to save power" from the WiFi and the drivers. I have reset winsock. I have made WLAN AutoConfig automat

Wifi adapter disappears - goes 'hidden'


Running Windows 10 on an Acer laptop. Over the past month, the wifi connection dropped without explanation/warning.

First time, the adapter was visible in Device Manager (with a yellow triangle next to it). An interent search found the suggestion to uninstall it and restart. That worked.

Today, the connection dropped again. In Device Manager at first I could not see the wifi adapter listed. I clicked to see hidden devices and found the adapter and the Bluetooth (which I had not noticed was missing).

I again uninstalled, restarted, and both the wifi and bluetooth have returned.

Anyone any ideas as to what is happening, why it's happening, and what I need to do, please?

I have attached a screenshot of the DM windows as it is now, showing the wifi adapter name, etc.

Windows 10 wifi not turning on Acer Aspire laptop

In order to get the list of available wireless networks, you have to:

1. Switch on Connect to suggested open hotspots (see the screenshot in question);
   
2. Click on Wifi icon in the right corner. Now you have your networks back.
   

After that the parameter from Step 1 can be turned off, networks will be listed normally after restarting Wifi.

P.S. I feel rather stupid at the moment. I thought that open hotspots are passwordless hotspots and so are presumably not very safe. So of course I've turned that off during installation.
Really hard to see any logic in this case.
