  1. WiFi does not exist

Started happening a few hours ago today. No WiFi connections are shown despite being fine on every other device. I know it's the wireless LAN card. I have attempted to update, disable then re-enable, reinstall, but it continuously gives me a Code 10. Updating automatically says the driver is up-to-date, but it gives an error when trying to install by picking from computer.

How to connect to an existing wifi network?

'Not connected' doesn't necessarily mean the WiFi adapter isn't working, just that you have not yet connected to an available network. If it is working then a list of available WiFi names should appear when you click on the WiFi icon on the taskbar which looks like this
    WiFi does not exist 269067d1583286072t-how-connect-existing-wifi-network-image.png
    when not connected.

If the list is empty then either the antenna is not connected to the WiFi adapter or the adapter isn't working. This may be a driver problem rather than hardware, so look in Device Manager for any yellow warnings. Also check that the WiFi adapter is not disable in Device Manager.

  3. Recommendation for WiFi usb / card

If you have a desktop computer I would STRONGLY suggest a PCIe adapter rather than a USB adapter if you go with WiFi 6. The only USB WiFi adapters that I have seen thus far use a Realtek chipset which is reported to have some serious flaws. In my own personal experience, I have tried 2 of these and returned both, getting performance worse than other WiFi 5 adapters and constant disconnects even 10 feet from my WiFi router.

If you go with a USB adapter, I would suggest a quality WiFi 5 adapter.

One more note: Should you decide to go with a WiFi 6 PCIe adapter, I would suggest a WiFi 6e model. They actually cost no more, and they are one step up just in case you ever go to a WiFi 6e router.

  4. WiFi does not exist

    Autocorrect in Win10... basically non-existent(?)

In this case, we suggest following the steps below to work around the issue:

    • On the Cortana search box, type Typing Settings and press
      Enter.
    • Turn off Autocorrect misspelled words and Highlight misspelled words.
    • Restart your PC.
    • Do step 1 and 2 but this time turn on Autocorrect misspelled words
      and Highlight misspelled words.
    • Restart your PC.
    • Check if the issue still exist.

If you have questions, please let us know.
