Windows 10: Wifi driver and 5 GHz frequency, Xfinity hot spots

I can't see the xfinity hot spots using my Lenovo W540. Other devices can see the hot spots, Xfinity says the hot spot exists. My laptop does see some of the available wifis. Xfinity hot spots run on the 5 GHz frequency - the driver on my laptop seems to show only 2.4 GHz options even though the driver is listed as "n" - 2x2 11bgn Wireless LAN M.2 Adaptor. The driver is up to date according to the computer.802.11a/ac uses 5 GHz band802.11b/g uses 2.4 GHz band802.11n uses either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz bandsXfinity's solution - turn on location services....I said noPlease advise, this is taking over o

Can't connect laptop to 5 GHz home wi-fi. Does my laptop support 5 GHz wi-fi?

It makes no difference to Windows what frequency band you use, because the frequency band is a function of your LAN, not Windows.

To use the 5 GHz frequency band, you need three elements:

1- a router that supports the 5GHz band;

2- a WiFi adapter that supports the 5 GHz band; and

3- a Windows 10 driver for your WiFi adapter.

If you have #1 and #2, the next step is to select the SSID of your 5 GHz band when you connect to your LAN. If doing this doesn't let you connect, you have to check that you have #3. If you do, and you;re still having problems, you need to contact the manufacturer
of your WiFi adapter.

 

WiFi hot spot application for Nokia X6

Is there any WiFi hot spot application for Nokia X6? (Except JoikuSpot).



Please don't suggest apps which helps to connect to free wifi hot spot, I'm looking for an app which turns my 3g / 2g connection to wifi hotspot.



And any one from India facing the problem to purchase an app through ovi store? For me its giving error message saying "your language is not supported". I have selected English is as my language but still I'm getting the same error.

 

Reorder WiFi networks


I just got a Lenovo Yoga 14 with Win 10 preinstalled. I set up the WiFi for my home network and then added Xfinity WiFi hot spot so I can use the computer on my jobsite (Construction site that doesn't have its own internet connection). A Xfinity hot spot is also available around my home and every time I restart this Win 10 notebook it connects to the Xfinity hot spot instead of my Home router. I have unchecked the Connect Auto check box for Xfinity but it still wants to connect to that hot spot first.

How do I reorder the list of WiFi connections so it goes to my home network first, If Available?

I've search Google and this forum and found nothing. Maybe my search terms are correct?
