Windows 10: Wifi is slow on my Laptop, but not on other devices. Diagnose and driver update does not help

So I recently moved from our ground floor to the first floor, forcing me to use a TP-Link wifi extender. All my other devices seem to connect fine, but my laptop only gets 2 mbps, while before on the other network, it had the full range of 100mbps. It tried updating drivers, disableing/enableing the wifi card, restarting and reconfiguring my wifi extender but nothing seems to help. Does anybody know, how to solve this?

I've had the same problem as Panayiotis1984. Upgraded to Windows 10 on my Lenovo from windows 8.1 - now the wifi is painfully slow. The wifi still works fine on my other devices (smartphone etc).

I tried the steps that you suggested but they did not bring an improvement.

Any other suggestions?

Do you know if your laptop's download speed improves if you plug an ethernet cable into your laptop from the router?

You could try reinstalling your WiFi adapter's drivers. Here are the steps:

- Press Windows Key+X and choose Device Manager.

- Find your WiFi adapter in the list.

- Right-click it and choose Update Driver.

- If that doesn't work, try uninstalling it and then scan for hardware changes to reinstall the driver.

Or you could see what the troubleshooter does. Click Start and type "troubleshoot" then select the first result. Scroll down and choose Internet Connection. Run the troubleshooter and it may help.

Otherwise, let me know what brand and model you laptop is and I'll find the correct drivers for your WiFi adapter to download manually.
