  1. WIFI keeps disconnecting after a couple of minutes

    Hi,

I'm new here and I'm not very good with that kind of stuff, so please be comprehensive. I have a lenovo Y40-70 that I bought 1 year ago. I have a problem with my wifi connection, it keeps disconnecting after 5 minutes to 1 hour. It's been 1 week since I have this problem. I thought it was a physical problem with my adapter, so I bought a mini USB adapter, but I still have the same problem. I have tried EVERYTHING that I could find: reinstall driver, every tricks in device manager, enable/disable bitdefender.

I made the upgrade to windows 10 beginnings of august. I had a couple of problems with the OS (close without notice, trackpad problem, sound problem), but nothing about the WIFI. I don't want to go back to windows 8.1, because it was worse than 10 and I can't install windows 7 (I tried).

    Thanks,

    Nick

    :)

Wifi keeps disconnecting after a few minutes and requires laptop reset

    Hi Mr. Walsh,

There are several reasons why your computer would have an intermittent connection on WiFi. Corrupted system files, interfering 3rd party programs, Hardware issues, or driver malfunction are only a few of these reasons. We have an article that can help you
resolve this issue. Kindly visit the link provided on this response and follow the steps you have not done yet with your troubleshooting:

Wifi keeps disconnecting after a few minutes and requires laptop reset

My Wifi keeps disconnecting after a few minutes and will not reconnect until I restart my computer. I have reinstalled drivers, reset my laptop to factory settings and adjusted the power options so that my laptop cannot turn my devices off to save power.
I ran a wlan report and the error "device disconnected while associating" keeps occurring. Here is a transcript of the report. Any help would be much appreciated. My laptop is an Asus 550X series and I'm currently operating on windows 10 (which I feel may
be the issue) but I cannot go back to previous windows version as the date for roll back has expired.

WIFI keeps disconnecting after a couple of minutes

Do you get the issue when connecting to different routers?
If the issue occurs mainly at home then try a different channel (there apps that can assist you in finding the best channel)
Check your router has the latest firmware, also try MiniToolBox
