Wifi keeps dropping. Realtek RTL8723BE, W10 Home, no previous driver to roll back to.

    Hi Bourrique,

A corrupted or incompatible WiFi driver is one of the possible reasons why it keeps dropping. For us to assist you better, kindly answer the questions below:

    • Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
    • Which version and OS build number of Windows 10 is currently installed? To check, press the
Windows key, type winver, and press the
      Enter
      key.
    • Do you have a third-party security software installed?

Meanwhile, I would suggest that you try to download and install the latest WiFi driver from the manufacturer's website of your device. You can follow the steps in this

    Forum Article
that was provided by Andre Da Costa, and go to the section,
How to find and download drivers from the manufacturers website.

Update us with the results so we can further assist you.

Wifi keeps dropping. Realtek RTL8723BE, W10 Home, no previous driver to roll back to.

Hi! I have the very same problem, same net adapter.

Here my answers to your questions:

    1. Windows update

I seemed that during/after the update KB4074588 (OS Build 16299.248) last week -I think it was Wed, March 7-, the PC said, that there is a new Update, which I runned. But I cannot find it in my updates history. (Maybe a part from KB4074588 which haven't
    been runned before or properly?)

Afterwards my wifi connection was coming and going, as Bourrique has described.

    2. All. Router off/on, new driver, deinstall and reinstall. I was able to connect to WIFI (that was a relief, as I have no LAN socket) and I was able to download the

    new driver
and made the last new one Windows Update KB4090913 (OS Build 16299.251), which I hoped would solve the problem. It didn't.

    3. Windows 10 1709 (OS Build 16299.251). Win 10 64 bit

    4. No, just Defender. No VPN

I've been able to reproduce the problem. It is not random, as it seemed at the very beginning.

I have discovered that the net adapter needs a much stronger signal than before!!!

I just get Wifi at home beside the router! All my other devices (Smartphones, Tablets and a Mac) work properly (so no internet or router provider problem), and I have taken my laptop a LENOVO (Also with a
Realtek RTL8723BE) to other places/nets and it is the same. "Weaker" signals (other devices show 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 4) or a few meters (even without a wall) away from the router, the signal disapears! Beside my router, 1 meter, all
other devices show full signal, my laptop shows just the one little point (1-2 out of 4)!

It would be great, if you could find the issue in the Windows Update which is causing this! I hope my description of the problem will help you.

    Thank you!

    Hi Eric,

Thanks for the response. Here is the info you want

    • I have made no hardware changes to this laptop.
    • I have used the Troubleshooter included in the Network settings. It was unable to identify the problem. From the Properties tab I have tried disabling and re-enabling the device. I have also tried uninstalling the device from the same tab to force a reinstall
on restart. I have switched off and on WiFi in the control panel. I have looked at the Realtek website but not found anything helpful.
    • Windows 10 1709 (OS Build 16299.248)
    • Avast Free Antivirus
I will look at the link you provided and report back.
