WiFi Network Has X Next To It

Hello, I hope all is well. For some reason my main network at home is showing up as an X on my computer. I was wondering if someone could help me. I've attached a screenshot of what the X looks like below although on my computer only my main network has an X on it and the rest are fine and I'm able to connect to. and once I click "Connect" it says "Some information changed since the last time you connected. We need additional information to complete the connection."

I've made sure all the drivers are updated as well as rebooted my computer and reinstalled drivers multiple times. Can anyone please help? I can connect to the network from other devices so I'm sure it's something up with my windows laptop.

    Thanks!

    :)

    White x beside wifi network!

    Hi Karl,

The white x on top of Wireless symbol might mean that, there is a password change or some setting change to the wireless network.

To resolve this white x mark, follow the below steps to "Forget the network" and re-connect to the wireless network.

    1. Select the wireless network icon > Wireless & Network settings

    2. From the list in the left, select "Wi-Fi"

    3. Select "Manage known networks"

    4. Search and select the network that is causing issue > Select "Forget"

    5. Now, select the wireless icon again and re-connect to the network.

Note: After Step 4, you won't find the x mark on top of the specific wireless network.

    Voilaa

  3. wifi network recconnects automatically to another wifi network.............

    Hi,

Do not worry we will help you with this issue.

I suggest you to uncheck the option to automatically connect to the network (networkprofile~), try to remove the connection by choosing forget connection and check if it helps.

Try the troubleshooting steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: Run Network Adapter troubleshooter

Network Adapter troubleshooter find and fix the problems with wireless and other Network Adapter.

    • Click on Start; in the start search type
      Troubleshooter and hit Enter.
    • In the left pane, click onView all.
    • Click on Network Adapter Troubleshooter.
    • Select Advance and click on
      Run as Administrator.
    • Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Step 2: If you are able to find the drivers in Device Manager, check for the device status.

    Follow:

    • Press Windows + X keys from the keyboard, click on
      Device Manager.
    • Expand Network Adapter, right click on the driver.
    • Click on Properties and check the
      device status
      .

Step 3: I suggest you to update the network adapter driver from device manager.

    Follow the below steps:

    • Press Windows key + x key on your keyboard.
    • Select Device manager.
    • Expand Network adapters. Right-click on the device and click
      Update Driver Software.
    • Restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
