  1. Wifi network not appearing on one device.

On an assus desktop computor, on the wifi, im not able to find the specific network i am authorized to use. Many other networks are listed, but not the one i need. All other devices are showing the network available in the same area and are able to connect easily. It is a guest wifi at an institution and i dont have access to the router. It seems to be the issue of this single Assus computer. What can I try? Thanks. Maribel.

    :)

Wifi network not appearing after recent Win 10 monthly patch

Someone else on another forum suggested I switch the wifi freq on my Android Nexus 5x. So I switched it from 5ghz to 2.4 and it worked! Problem solved. Now my Nexus hotspot is again appearing in my Win 10 list of available wifi networks. So problem was with Android and not Windows.

  3. Unknown devices keep appearing in my network tab

I think you've misunderstood. I'm not talking about wifi networks. I'm talking about devices that appear on my own network, such as the "generic network connected device" in this screenshot, which is certainly not one of my devices:

WiFi appears in Manage Known Networks, not in Show Available Networks

The list of WiFi connections shown when you click the WiFi icon in the taskbar is a list of all the signals that can currently be seen by the WiFi adapter. The list in Manage Known Networks is a list of all those you have previously successfully connected to, whether or not they are currently available.

The only plausible explanation is that for a while that WiFi signal had been turned off.
