Windows 10: Wifi optionmissing, No network Card found, No wifi adapters. Happened 10/01/21

This is an hp Laptop. On 10/01/21 the wifi stopped working the trouble shooters cant find anything. i did a complete restore and reinstalled windows and still there is no wireless network, Not even a wifi option, there are no drivers in device management. I attempted to download the drivers, said instal was complete, they still do not show up in device management. I downloaded a trouble shooter that tells me there is no network card found. Please help, I have tried everything I could find!

Safe Mode with Networking - No network - No WiFi adapter...

I'm not sure what build they made the change in . I have tried every suggestion I found and nothing worked. When in Safe Mode my wireless network doesn't even show up so I can't choose it as a option.

Edit: I just tried booting into Safe Mode. The network icon had a X in it. When I clicked on it the only option was Airplane Mode.

 

Wifi adapter disappears - goes 'hidden'


Running Windows 10 on an Acer laptop. Over the past month, the wifi connection dropped without explanation/warning.

First time, the adapter was visible in Device Manager (with a yellow triangle next to it). An interent search found the suggestion to uninstall it and restart. That worked.

Today, the connection dropped again. In Device Manager at first I could not see the wifi adapter listed. I clicked to see hidden devices and found the adapter and the Bluetooth (which I had not noticed was missing).

I again uninstalled, restarted, and both the wifi and bluetooth have returned.

Anyone any ideas as to what is happening, why it's happening, and what I need to do, please?

I have attached a screenshot of the DM windows as it is now, showing the wifi adapter name, etc.

I have 1903, on a laptop as you can see from my specs. Safe Mode with Neworking (Wi-Fi) works, but there are a couple of steps to get it working. It's possible using an adapter on a desktop is a different matter, I suppose.

This is what I see- your experience may differ.




Initial log-on - no connection.



Double click Network icon shows available connections.



Click Connect



Connected



Device Manager- driver.
