Windows 10: Wifi options aren't appearing and I have no internet access.

My computer isn't connecting to wifi. In the bottom right of the main bar there's an icon that displays a globe if there's no connection and the wifi symbol if there is one. I click on that, and it brings up options for Wifi, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode, Battery Saver, Night Light, and Accessibility. For the last few weeks, it has been even odds whether the Wifi and Bluetooth buttons even appear. Now I can't get the wifi button to appear at all. The mouseover text says that there's "no internet access" and "no connections available."

No WiFi in Win10 Pro (1903) Windows Sandbox

I (seemingly) successfully updated my Surface Pro 6 to v.1903 today, and after some initial fumbles enabling it, now have Windows Sandbox enabled and it seems to open just fine. However, there is no WiFi access within Sandbox.

Accessing Settings for Network & Internet, the list on the left is:
Status
Ethernet
Dial-up
VPN
Airplane mode
Date usage
Proxy
WiFi appears no place in that window. Network status shows No Internet Access.

What step am I missing to be able to access the internet from within the Sandbox using my computer's WiFi connection?

 

W10 can connect to wider internet but cannot access web pages

I have an odd issue with my W10 laptop linked to Sky broadband in the UK via wifi using a Sky router. The effect is that while I can actually access the internet (I can send and receive emails using Outlook and can connect to other machines using TeamViewer) I cannot access any web site (Google, BBC etc). There is no specific error message, merely that the access request timed out and a suggestion that it may be to do with proxy. I have tried the following:

1. Other systems (W10 and ios) can access web sites using the same Sky router (therefore probably not a router problem)
2. I have sent and received emails using Outlook, so the broadband connection is working (probably not a Sky problem)
3. I have tried two different browsers (Firefox and Edge), no connection (not a browser problem)
4. I am using Windows Defender and have:
   1. Made sure that Firefox is in the list of allowed systems in its Firewall, no connection after a reboot
   2. Turned off the Firewall and tried again - no connection

My next step will be to re-install Windows, but has anyone got any other suggestions? Could it be some sort of virus (I have carried out a complete virus check using Defender) So - any suggestions?

 

Windows 10 update KB194496 disabled Wifi access to internet

Lenovo laptop did a Windows 10 update with KB3194496 last night/this morning. Afterwards the network/wifi said connected to AT&T router without internet access. However, the AT&T router said the Lenovo laptop was NOT connected. Two other PCs (a Windows
& HP desktop and a Windows 10 HP laptop) were listed as connected and had Internet access.

Rebooted the AT&T Uverse router, same thing.

When I uninstalled KB3194496 and rebooted the laptop connected correctly to the router and internet. What is the problem with KB3194496 that disables wifi internet on my Lenovo laptop?
