  1. Wifi ping spikes

    Hello,

I am experiencing ping spikes on certain wifi connection.

It has started in October, when I was at boarding house in Uni everything on wifi was smooth, but when I moved to homestay at connected to their wifi, I have started experiencing ping spike up to 2000ms every 30 seconds. So I couldn't play online games or even streaming movies.

Than when I moved back to uni, ping got to it's normal state around 30-50ms.

When I came back in 2 month, same problem was still appearing, and restarting wifi router didnt help, so I decided to reset a PC and it didnt help at all, but I now have to download 150gb of games again.

I dont know what to do, I tried browsing, but I couldn't find anyone with same problem, please help.

    :)

  2. Permanent fix for WIFI Ping Spikes

I tried switching of the power management option, no results. Also, I have no idea how this should have an influence. I don't have problems that my USB dongle is not waking up after sleep mode. I have a Wifi connection all the time. Just with enormous ping
spikes every 5-10secs, like I showed in my screenshots. I can also exclude any external software or windows updates because after disabling Wlanautoconfig via CMD it's working just fine, with all the possible external programmes running, including windows
    update!

And my network connection is not slow or lagging, I have abnormal ping spikes, only really noticeable while gaming. And it has to be something in Windows that's causing it, I tried all the other possibilities (including hardware changes) with no success.

But it seems you can´t help me, so I have to stay with disabling it via CMD and then resetting my network after every restart and repeating the problem. Annoying but it works.

    Issue with ping spikes

connect something wired to either router (test both if you can) and do a file transfer. see if the ping spikes get worse.

if you're wifi bridging/repeating, those tend to cause issues like this if the signal isnt perfect.

    Ping spikes

I noticed yesterday i started getting random ping spikes while gaming and in a skype call i thought it was my router so i restarted it still was bad so i made a wifi hotspot on my phone which is a pretty good connection and i still had the same problem so im pretty sure it is not my routers fault but my pc but im not sure what to do.
