Windows 10: WiFi Printers

I had a Epson MF Printer that was setup on a home network and used by a windows 10 PC and Laptop and two android devices. About two weeks ago an error message was received by all devices except the laptop that the printer can not be found. Then the connection could be found and then lost. Just as if someone was turning a light switch on and off.

I setup the printer per the setup instructions and got a confirmation that it was connected. Tried to print from all devices and had failed due to no printer found except the laptop.

The printer was wearing out it's place here so I got a new Canon MF printer.

Did the set up per the instructions in order. I set up the WiFi on the printer and was confirmed. I turned off the firewall. Tried the original installation software and got up to the point where the PC was identifying the printer and it came up blank. So I contacted Canon and found that they had Updated their Installation software and drivers a week earlier so I downloaded the update and tried an install. I got right up to the PC identifying the printer to be connected wireless and the software window came up blank. Well I can be stubborn to so I watched Canon"s install video and reread the step by step instructions and got the same thing three more times. The windows 10 PC and now laptop cannot find any printer on the home network that it has used for eight years.

Any one have an answer?

Canon printer wifi trouble

Set a static IP on the printer else each time it switches off and on may get different ip which may not function correctly
Try
Delete the Printer after setting static ip

Devices and printer
>add printer
>>Add local printer (not network even though on wifi)
>>>Create new port - click standard Tcp/Ip
>>>>enter ip address of printer that set before and any port name
Select the printer driver from list

Try a test print to see if working then switch off and on and see if come back online

If still stays offline ,Open printer in Devices and printer
Click printer
untick use offline
turn printer off and On

See if comes back online

Network Printer can either be set by Ip address or Printer network name
Static ip always the best to set

 

Canon printer wifi trouble

Basically, with that kind of wifi printer, I can't turn the printer off ?

I should probably remove the sleep mode aswell.

Hey,

I installed my canon pixma mg3210 with the newest driver and I choose wifi connection.

Eveyrthing works fine until I turn off the printer then my laptop doesn't detect the printer anymore.
Basically, the printer is offline.
