  1. WiFi problem following KB4338819 update

    Hello,

I am loosing internet connection following KB4338819 update.

For some reason, whenever Windows Update, Microsoft Store, or Office 365 is doing an update, it kills everything until it times out and then connection is restored.

I am right next to my router so it is not a signal issue. Speed test shows 27mb/s down and 6mb/s up

Standard Windows antivirus and firewall is being used.

On stable release of Windows 10 1803

All drivers are up to date.

This problem started following the Windows update KB4338819

    Any ideas anyone?

    :)

    Odd KB4338819 issue

Hello, I tried to install the update KB4338819, but on the first time, it was stuck on 68% installation, so I physically reset PC, made a chkdsk, retried the update, and all went fine.

But now, in the update chronology it's showed as (KB4338819) (2).

Why there is the number 2? This is the first time I have this issue...if it is an issue.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond WiFi problem following KB4338819 update :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.

    WiFi problem following KB4338819 update

Wifi and browser problems with windows 10

I'll tell you how I fixed an identical problem on a ASUS laptop that had run perfectly on Windows 7 and ran well on W10 from January until the Anniversary update in early August. I tried everything I found on this forum and two others. Nothing worked. The last thing someone suggested was disabling the adapter and using a WiFi dongle. Problem continued. Nobody suggested changing the wireless network adapter. I bought and installed an Intel 7260 WiFi card and just used the driver which was downloaded on the reboot after the install. All problems solved!!

I must have wasted two months reading and trying everything. Even the manufacturer support inferred I needed a new machine though they sent me a Windows 8.1 driver to try, with the same result.

I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to determine if they white list any cards and see if they have suggestions for a compatible card. They may want you to buy another laptop but if the cards aren't white listed, a simple card swap to one compatible with Windows 10 seems to be the answer.
