Windows 10: Wifi speed considerable slower compared to ethernet

I have had to move my PC and can no longer use an ethernet connection and I am finding that my wifi speeds and ping are much worse. Not sure why this is or how I can improve this. I’m guessing it has something to do with my network adaptor - 802.11n Wireless LAN Card. When I run a wifi speed test on my PC, I get 60 Mbps download and upload, but if I do it on my phone in the same room I get more than double the download speed and a bit larger upload speed. My ping also seems to fluctuate when playing games causing me to lag out sometimes.Any help and advice is appreciated.

Download speed slower than upload speed

My Windows 10 desktop has slower download speeds (10Mbps) compared to upload speeds (30Mbps). On other devices connecting to the same router, I can get download speeds of 90+MBps on our 100/40 plan.

This is true whether I connect with ethernet or wifi.

I have changed the Windows update settings that limit how much bandwidth is used for downloading updates.

I have changed the NetworkThrottlingIndex registry setting to ffffff.

Is there some other Windows setting I can find and change, to improve this?

Ethernet internet speed slower than Wifi

I will try to fix my wired internet speed that is 6 times slower than my wifi speed!

My internet speed is only 80 Mbps whereas
* laptop windows 10
* a realtek card PCIe GbE Family Controller #8168E, Maximum speed download/upload 1000 Mbps/1000 Mbps, latest driver (10.36 - 2019 July)
* Cat 5e wire

The modem gives me 500 Mbps with my smartphone (wifi).

Looked everywhere on forums, settings (settings always say that my card accepts 1000 Mbps), but no success at all.

Solved - Ethernet over power vs WiFi

What sort of wifi speeds are you getting currently? Something along the lines of 802.11ac is mostly comparable to mainstream Ethernet solutions (800-1300mb/s wifi vs 1000mb/s Ethernet). I am not familiar with Ethernet over power so I don't know what to say on that front.
