Windows 10: Wifi symbol isn't on task bar and Network & Internet settings closes down after opening,...

So, the wifi icon in the task bar won't appear despite being connected to the internet and having the quick action for it pinned, it just won't show up and is affecting everything Microsoft related, however task manager shows that I have an internet connection and everything that isn't owned by Microsoft yet requires the internet works. I have looked up ways to fix this issue but they all require me to go into the Network & Internet settings which won't open, do things that I've already done, like checking that the quick action is pinned, or something that I can't do, such as reverting bac

No list available networks from task bar windows 10

Windows 10. Click on wifi icon on task bar. A gray box appears where the list of networks should appear. Within the gray box Is two small boxes one of my current internet connection and airplane mode. Just above those small boxes a text link,

"Network settings". I click network settings it opens a setting window that shows all available network connections, with the ability to connect to each. Why doesn't the list of available networks show when clicking the wifi icon on the task bar?

But when I think about it, where is the difference, when I have file sharing enabled on my Wireless network then both PCs connect and file-share via the WiFi that is connected to the internet. I have a firewall in my ASUS modem/router and Kaspersky Internet security. Isn´t that enough? What is different when I bridge the Wireless-Network with the local network and set file-sharing only via the local network?

You'll have to research that yourself. I did not bother looking into the subject any further once I found that warning [I had been wondering if I could make use of multiple WiFi network adapters].
