Windows 10: Wifi symbol missing and no networks showing as available despite functioning adaptor with...

As per title, a month or so ago following an update the wifi symbol disappeared on my laptop - hardware all functioning fine and laptop still connected to remembered networks, but wouldn't show any new ones.This issue also caused other software to believe I was offline and not operate, so I recently tried to resolve and only succeeded in losing access to remembered networks too.When I run the troubleshoot, it just says I have failed to select a network, but will not present me with a list to select from.I know both my network and network adaptor are fine, as when I look at the detailed informa

"WiFi- Show Available Networks" does not list wireless routers anymore

Thanks for trying. I think you misunderstood. It has nothing to do with routers (at Starbucks).

The problem is in Windows 10 upgrade that was forced on my Lenovo Z500 - win 10 messed it up so that win 10 will not display "WiFi- Show Available Networks" .

On my Lenovo Edge 15 I am able to bring up properties of my wireless adaptor and select "WiFi- Show Available Networks" which shows list of Wifi routers. I am able to bring up properties of my wireless adaptor on my Z500 and select "WiFi- Show Available
Networks" - but nothing happens/displays. Same menu - one works, one does not. Both had windows 10 upgrade/patches forced on them.

 

Available Networks Not Showing

My list of available wifi networks has suddenly stopped showing in windows 10. The list of networks is not showing when I click the system wifi icon in the notification bar. The list of networks does not show using 'show available networks' in Windows
Settings. Windows Settings will crash if I go to the WiFi page and select 'Manage Known Networks'.

I am connected to the internet using my normal WiFi. I created a wlan report. It seems to show that the wlan is working fine. I can list the available networks using the cmd line 'netsh wlan show networks'. They all show up as they should.

So, it appears the hardware is working but some windows module has stopped working and providing the list of available networks.

Any ideas how to fix this?

 

No WiFi networks available

hello- earlier today, my Lenovo Yoga laptop stopped showing available WiFi networks. Now all it shows is the “Airplane mode” symbol, no WiFi networks. This happens every couple months and often takes a couple days to sort out. Ive tried every solution
suggested in these forums as it seems to be a common problem. Is there anything new that I might not have tried? Ive done everything from resetting the networks to uninstalling and updating drivers and literally every other suggestion found online. Nothing
works. Tired of this continuing to happen.
