Windows 10: Wifi Tile Missing, Settings Freezing

For some reason my computer will randomly have connection issues. I go to check if my wifi is still up and the wifi tile in my settings is just completely gone. I try to go through my settings and when I click on network settings, the window freezes. Restarting my computer when it's in this state is difficult, as it'll be stuck on the restarting screen and the power light will not shut off. Task manager also freezes when this happens. I've done all I can to troubleshoot this so far and still I've not been able to find a solution. This issue only appeared in the last few months after updating t

Wifi settings are missing

Hello,

My Wifi settings are missing. I tried the steps as given in: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi connection on your Surface - Microsoft Supportbut
that didn't solve the issue.

Here some details:

• Windows 10 home / 1709 / 16299.125
• I installed all Windows udpates.
• In device manager I don't see under networkadapter the Marvell Avastar.
• The troubleshooter didn't solve the problem.
• Problem started a week ago, reason is unknown.
• I don't know which surface I have, or what surface even is.

Hopefully someone can help me to get the wifi settings back, need internet wireless.

Do not worry, it can be fixed.

Restart Surface and check.

It could be due to incorrect settings or missing updates or damaged drivers.

I suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps.

Maxwell and Pascal "secretly" use tile based rasterization

I suspect this is still not full tile based rendering the way ARM Mali does, keeping lists of geometry primitives per tile in each hierarchy level. This seems only tiling of a rasterization step.
In pipeline after geometry is done, gpu seems to run full pixel shader with full gpu on each first level tile serially from left to right, top to bottom. Second level could be as well done in immediate rasterization mode but coverage pattern using tiny tiles helps with cache hits - remember, maxwell and pascal have multiple levels of cache in their gpu. Tiles must be appropriately sized by driver to ensure best usage of gpu cache.
