Windows 10: Wifi turning completely off.

I was wondering if anyone has found a fix for the wifi turning off. My wifi completely turns off and I have to go into device manager>network adapters and uninstall all of them then scan for new hardware. After that I have to completely shutdown the laptop not restart and turn it back on for my wifi to even become an option to use. Ive went into network connections>change adapter setting>right clicked wireless and selected properties>config>power management and unchecked "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and it helped for a bit until my last update and now it does it again. Anytime the computer sleeps or turns off I have to go and uninstall the drivers, reinstall and shutdown and start the computer for me to get the wifi. This is extremely aggravating and was wondering if anyonenuas found a solid fix for this since Microsoft hasnt put the effort into addressing it.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Turn WiFi search off, when you don’t need it, by taping on WiFi quick action button or by managing your
WiFi notification by following these steps:

• Slide your finger downwards on the screen.
• Press All settings.
• Press Network & wireless.
• Press WiFi. and then select Wi-Fi Sense.
• Turn on/off "Connect to suggested open hotspots".
• Uncheck "Show a notification banner when action is needed from me".

Wifi completely disabled

Hi Ben,

It seems that your wireless card may have been disabled or could be uninstalled. To help sort out this issue, I suggest that you restart your laptop first. Once the laptop is back on, check if your WiFi is reconnected. If not, check your laptop's Device
Manager and see if the wireless card is detected. Follow these steps:

• Right-click the Windows key and click Device Manager.
• Expand Network adapters and look for your WiFi adapter.
• If it's there, right-click it and click Properties.
• Check the Device status.

If the device status shows that the device is working properly, then check if the Airplane mode on your laptop is turned on. Just press the
Windows key + A to open Action Center. If it's on, then turn it off and see if WiFi is working.
