Windows 10: WiFi turns off after a few seconds after boot. I am forced to restart the computer after...

Every time I switch on my laptop, WiFi comes for a few seconds and it automatically turns off. I cannot turn the WiFi on again as it will not detect any network around me. The only way out is the "network reset" option available at network and internet settings. Please address this issue. Any workaround for this without the restart would be really helpful.

Thank you for posting in Community.

The issue might occur if the system is not Shut down properly. As you have already tried restarting the system several times, I suggest you to perform a Power Drain by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Turn Off the computer and remove the power cable.
• Long press the Power button for 15-20 seconds.
• Plug in the power cable and switch on the computer.

Windows 10 wifi not turning on Acer Aspire laptop

In order to get the list of available wireless networks, you have to:

1. Switch on Connect to suggested open hotspots (see the screenshot in question);
   
2. Click on Wifi icon in the right corner. Now you have your networks back.
   

After that the parameter from Step 1 can be turned off, networks will be listed normally after restarting Wifi.

P.S. I feel rather stupid at the moment. I thought that open hotspots are passwordless hotspots and so are presumably not very safe. So of course I've turned that off during installation.
Really hard to see any logic in this case.

Thanks Eeshwar-- As I read other inquiries and answers, I noticed that in some cases it seems that the power button needed to be held down. I shut the machine off again, holding down the button, and turned it on the same way. That began about five minutes
of activity on the screen, at the end of which things were working again. Your response suggested that the system was not shut down properly, so my experience and your analysis seem to line up well together.

Of course I've still lost both my browser and my network by installing Windows 10, but at least I can work.
