  1. Wifi &Wifi2 - what's the deal?

    Apologies. This has probably been asked a million times, but getting this problem on my network. Getting my wifi and then another one with the same wifi name and a 2 beside it. It's only happening on my HP laptop. Looked online and it was all Win8 stuff. So I went into Network & Internet Security and clicked forget the second network. I don't know if that was the right thing to do, but the machine seems ok. Should add this was after a reinstall, keeping files, because it was being a pest with hidden network stuff as well. I use a VPN and also cast to a Chromecast with this machine. No idea if that is connected. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am no expert at this.

  2. Wifi2 and Wifi 2 adaptors and 2 profiles which adapter belongs to which connection

    I have an HP Laptop 15-bs0xx.
    I have 2 Wifi Adapters. One onboard Realtek Wifi and another external USB Dlink Wifi.
    Below are screenshots.
    You can see both wifi connections in drop down.Wifi and Wifi2
    When I click on Wifi --> Properties a Window opens which shows me this is Dlink Wifi adaptor screenshotwifi dlink

    When I click on Wifi2 --> Properties a Window opens which shows this is Realtek Wifi Adaptor screenshot.enter image description here
    So from these settings I infer
    Wifi-->Dlink
    Wifi2-->Realtek

    But when I view things from Settings-->Network and Internet--->Wifi
    System->Network and Internet->Wifi view
    here in this image you can see it shows 2 wifi and when I click on Wifi
    properties then I get view that Wifi2 it is DLink adapter.
    enter image description here
    and Wifi is Realtek
    enter image description here
    So from these settings I infer
    Wifi2-->Dlink
    Wifi-->Realtek

    and here is the output of netsh show wlan interfaces command
    netsh show wlan interfaces output
    so netsh command results are
    Wifi2-->Dlink
    Wifi-->Realtek

    where as when I click on bottorn right hand corner of Windows where time is shown then the Wifi icon there shows
    Wifi-->Dlink
    Wifi2-->Realtek

    So when is Wifi--> Dlink and Wifi2-->Dlink
    and when is Wifi2->Realtek and Wifi-->Realtek
    why are the views coming in different in different applications of Windows 10?
    Why windows is some times telling that
    Wifi-->Dlink and in some other tabs it is telling Wifi-->Realtek similarly it tells Wifi2-->Dlink and Wifi2-->Realtek.
    Why is it coming this way and when I can connect with Dlink USB wifi adaptor and when can I connect with Realtek adaptor.
    All these screenshots were taken with both Wifi adaptors present in system.

    That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

    At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

    Wifi &Wifi2 - what's the deal?

    Setting up two USB wifi adapters

    I have set up a golf simulator in my garage and the tracking device connects to the software via a wifi connection. I also have wifi in the garage so I purchased an additional USB wifi card to connect to the internet. I have the simulator device connected on wifi2 and the internet on wifi but the issue is once the wifi connects to the internet, it blocks the simulator from connecting. I've been through the tech support people for the simulator and they walked me through the process of forgetting the networks on wifi and wifi2 but it's still not working. Is there a way to only to connect to a network on one card?

    Thanks

    Gary

    Can anyone suggest another Windows 10 forum? I posted something this morning about setting up 2 wifi adapters and with 76 reviews I didn't get 1 response.

    Thanks
