Windows 10: wifi works at like 1/5th of it's actual speed.

This has been happening for the past week. I have a 60 mbps connection and on speedtest i get 8-10 mbps dl and 35-40 mbps ul. Weird part is i have another identical laptop which works completely fine. I also have another wifi connection and it shows the same trend there as well. The other laptop works fine. I took the speedtest after disconnecting all other devices too. Is it a hardware problem or can it be fixed? If it can be fixed please help.

Wi-Fi shows a very low speed Windows 10 Laptop

For past several months, my Dell laptop running on updated Windows 10 shows a wifi internet speed of only around 4 mbps whereas the actual speed is around 25 mbps and tested on other devices. I am unable to resolve the issue in spite of all suggested and
other logical steps.

 

Wifi speed slow - 1/2 the speed of all other devices

Try closing the peer to peer upgrade process. To do so, follow these steps:

• Go to Settings>Update & Security.
• Click Advanced Options.
• Click Choose How Updates are Delivered.
• Toggle off the switch.

Also, kindly try booting your PC in safe mode and check if this allows you to utilize the full speed of your Internet connection. You can boot into safe mode by following the steps on this
