Discus and support Wifi works fine on phone and other devices but when i turn my pc on the internet speeds die in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I don't have great internet to begin with but its always worked fine.     Wifi works fine on phone and other devices but when i turn my pc on the internet speeds die


    I don't have great internet to begin with but its always worked fine. Today the net went out for a few hours and when it came back on its working fine on my phone speed check is normally what i get. When i turn on my pc now it pretty much completely dies to kbps speeds. Any ideas?

    No wifi on phone if my PC is turned off

    I added the mac of the phone to router.I have no idea if this is working. So far....the problem sort of mended it self 1 day ago. Now i am w8 to see what else will happen. At the moment it's working with pc turned off. Thank you all for the suggestions,will keep you posted.

    No wifi on phone if my PC is turned off

    I have a Nokia Lumia 920. I can not connect to my wifi using my router TP-Link TL-WR841ND if my PC is turned off. Strange if my PC is on, i can without no problems.
    I figured it may be a problem with the router,firewall or something....but why it only affects when the pc is turned off ??
    Tried to change some settings around the router.....nothing worked.Not that i had a clue to what i am doing.I jsut changed some settings to see what happens. No result. If my Pc is off my phone can not connect to wifi.
    The phones finds the router but it seas "no internet connection" even if it shows that it is connected and it has full signal.
    Hope you guys can help *Smile Wifi works fine on phone and other devices but when i turn my pc on the internet speeds die :)
    P.S. : I am using Windows 8.1 on my PC

    Windows 10 wifi icon shows not connected - connections available - but internet works fine?

    Hi Nik,

    Thank you for reaching out to us. We suggest you to try to disable auto turn-off of WiFi device by following the steps below:

    • Go to Network and Sharing Center.
    • At the right pane, click Change adapter settings.
    • Right click on your connection name (WiFi name) and Properties.
    • Click the Configure... button.
    • Go to Power Management tab.
    • Uncheck/disable the radio button for "Allow this device to turn off this device to save power".

    • Restart the PC (Important)
