Windows 10: Will a 4g to 16g ram DDR4 swap work

I would like to swap my 4g DDR4 with a Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR4 3200MHz, my laptop's over all power is ran off AMD Ryzen 3 3200U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx 2.60 GH. Would the swap work or would it not be compatible with my processing power and kill my laptop.

How to change in 5530 Express Music the original 4G memory card to 16G ?

Dear Friends,



My daughter has the Nokai 5530 Express Music with the original 4G memory card. And as you can imagine, it's now full and bought a new one that has space for 16G.



Now the question is - what an oeart I have to do to exchange the 4G one to 16G ? I can physically change the card to a new one, but what steps I have to follow to copy all the content, settings and what ever there might be to the new 16G card to make all
work with the bigger card.



I tried to copy all the content of the 4G with my laptop thru the memory card (+adater) reader and to copy all the content to the new one (so without any Data Suite or Ovi Suite program).



But it seems that is not the right way to do this...



What are the rights steps to do this change?

16G ram installed only 7.95g available

I only have the new ram....its ddr4.....old ram was ddr2 on a ep45 Intel mobo ....new ram does match their database...I checked that before buying it and it is plastered all over the ram packaging. Will have to wait till after Easter for any RMA stuff is
suppose.

The only thing that is having troubles with it is Win10. Everything else recognizes the 16G....even Win10 says it is installed just that only 7.95 is usable?????

Tried the 2nd stick several time again singly and no issues at all.....?????grrrrrrrr I would prefer anything wrong to just fail.....it doesn't....just win10 doesn't like it.

Thanks, that is a very comprehensive list of suggestions. However, I have done almost all of the steps you've listed...except uninstalling the apps. Even if I deleted virtually all my installed apps (most were installed on the D drive anyway, except for the ones that would only install on C), it may leave just barely enough room to get to the 5G needed for the install...but then where would I be.....an operating system running on a tablet, with hardly any apps on it....an anchor! The problem with apparently no answer is WinSxS!

It seems that even though Win 10 will install and run on the small little 16G tablets, they can not be updated over a period of time as the Windows and WinSxS folder continue to grow out of bounds. Thus leaving a 16G C drive device fairly useless for any useful purpose. The only option (it appears), is to do a fresh reformat and install, with every new Win 10 upgrade down the line, thus starting with a small WinSxS each time, instead of one that balloons with every program install and software upgrade.
