Windows 10: Will a Users Folder back up placed on new PC cause any problems with games and apps?

I'm buying a new PC and am planning to put my files there through a back up USB drive which has the Users folder backed up on it. I am aware that the Users folder contains also a hidden appdata folder. Will this cause any problems or bugs with games and apps that use this folder, which I will install on the new PC? I want to install the games I had previously on the old PC to the new one. * Moved from Community Center

The problem you've encountered in creating a folder could be caused by software or program conflict as the issue appeared a few days after installing the Windows 10 Creators update. For us to know if this only occurs when creating a new folder from the desktop,
we suggest that you try creating a new folder using a keyboard shortcut or from File Explorer. Please refer to the steps below:

Creating a new folder using a keyboard shortcut.

• Click on the desktop.
• Press CTRL + SHIFT + N.
• A new folder should be created.

Creating a new folder from File Explorer.

• Open File Explorer.
• Hover your mouse on the location where you want to create a new folder.
• Right-click it, go to New > Folder.

Here's the steps to update EMUI 4.1.1 to 5.0 :

• Download the EMUI 5.0(desired version) .zip file, and unzip it.
• Place the .hwt file in the HWThemes folder from your phone.
• Using the Themes app, apply the new theme.
• Restart the phone, in order to see all the new changes.

And you’re done!

 

On a new PC with Windows 11, user folder name is the email address instead of the user name associated with the account. Now it's causing problems.

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

When you create a user profile in Windows 10 or11, the user folder is created with the first 5 characters of your name or Email address, this is automatic.

Even if you change the user name in Windows, the name on that folder will not change, and Microsoft indicate you should not change the name on the user folder, because that is referenced in many places in the registry and changing the name can cause many unforeseen consequences later.

The Dell Migrate software process seems to have created another user folder, where it should have imported the data into the new user folder on the new PC.

Dell are more familiar with the workings of their migration software, and so the best option is to contact Dell support and ask them how yo import the data into the new user account folder on the new PC, and delete that second user profile folder that was created, because that will cause problems.
