From run-> msconfig-> services-> disable all except microsoft services.I actually need to know that do these services contribute to the working or important functions of my pc? If no then how?

It is not longer possible to disable the Windows Update service and for most of the Microsoft Services, those will just be restarted by the system when Windows requires them

Rarely are Microsoft Services the cause of a slow system, try the following to see if your system performance improves:

Turn off all unnecessary startup applications and processes:

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager

Click on the Startup Tab

See any non-essential items are listed there

If so, select and click 'Disable'

Close Task Manager

Click your Start Button, type msconfig and hit Enter

When the System Configuration dialog opens, click on the Services Tab

Check the box marked 'Hide Microsoft Services'

In the remaining list, see any non-essential items are listed there, uncheck any you find

Click Apply and OK

Turn off all unnecessary Background Apps

Open the Settings App

Go to Privacy - Background Apps

Turn off any App you do not need running in the background

Restart your PC

 

Is it bad idea to disable apps from running in the background?

Keep in mind that most apps aren't even capable to be run in the background, yet, they still also appear on that list that lets you choose to disable them from running in the background. In fact the Microsoft Store app that appears on that list is just nothing more than the GUI element so disabling it from running in the background does exactly nothing. It is perfectly safe to disable ALL apps from running in the background. Only if you want specific things like Mail app checking for new incoming e-mail messages giving you Toast notifications in Action Center and the like, then you might want to let those specific ones run in the background.

Let's try disabling the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) via Command Prompt by following the steps below:

• Open Command Prompt.
• Run/type msconfig.
• Click on Services tab.
• Remove check mark on Background Intelligent Transfer Service.
• Click on Apply.
• Restart your computer.
