Will DuckduckgoSearchEnabled registry edit in Windows Search work on windows search bar?Basically this question.I've seen "BingSearchEnabled" being edited in many people's recommendation on how to make Windows search bar search the internet again.For me, it didn't work.Also, the 'Search' process in my PC is suspended automatically. Could that be why my windows search isn't overviewing the internet?

I do believe he was talking about windows file explorer, not IE7...

Anyway, have you tried disabling the indexing service? I'm not sure if that'll work or not, but its worth a try...

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.
