Will games on my second hard drive, separate to my C: drive be uninstalled when I reset...

I'm thinking of resetting windows back to normal. I have games on my hard drive but will they be affected because they are 'programs'. I'm also concerned about the xbox specific apps, because last time when I reset my ssd the games from xbox game pass were still on my hard drive and I couldn't delete them, because windows doesn't recognise they are fully installed games. I tried everything to delete them but it corrupted my recycle bin and then I to fix that but I couldn't so I just reset my hdd as well. I don't want that to happen again so it could be great if I could get some answers. Plus, your really should do what steam does, which is allow for the user to pick the locations of games and windows recognises them so you don't have to completely delete them and re-download them.

    :)

  2. Resetting Computer with Multiple Hard Drives?

    Hey all,

Just a quick question. My computer has three hard drives:

    • An 128GB SSD as C:\ for Windows 10 and essential applications (Visual Studio, Office, etc)
    • An 700GB SSD as D:\ for nonessential applications and games
    • A 2TB platter HDD as E:\ for general file storage.
My computer has been running a bit weird lately (especially since I had a RAM stick go bad about a month ago) and so I just want to reset the C drive. My intention is to use the following steps:

    • Settings > Update & Security > Recovery
    • Click Get Started under Reset this PC
    • Click Remove Everything
    • Erase quicky (since I'm not trading this PC in)
So, my question is, if I do this will it format all three drives or will it only affect my C drive? I just want to know if I should disconnect my E drive before restoring my PC.

    Thanks in advance!

  3. Microsoft Store not seeing second hard drive

To preface this issue, I have Forza Horizon 3 and all of it's DLC bought on Microsoft Store. I was playing the game perfectly fine until one day last week when the game wasn't seeing any of the DLC I had installed.

I tried many different solutions and decided that I would just try an uninstall/reinstall. However, this turned out to be the worst course of action. I tried to reinstall the game by pressing the "Install" button on the store...and nothing would happen.
I then restarted my PC and upon clicking the "Install" button again, I would receive a drop down menu of places to install.

Now this is where the actual issue comes into play. On the drop down menu, I no longer can see my second hard drive in the list of available places to install. I had the game installed on my second hard drive before I uninstalled it. So, why can the Store no
longer see my hard drive? No other drives have enough space to install the game to them.

As it stands at this moment, I can no longer play the game that I bought just because the Store cannot see a certain drive anymore. And before anyone asks, yes, everything else can see the second hard drive.

  4. Will games on my second hard drive, separate to my C: drive be uninstalled when I reset...

    Overclock your hard drive!!!

Heres a much easier hack that I realized quite a few years ago that really does work!

    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Hard drive with molex power connection.
    • PSU with more than 1 strand that has molex plugs on it.
    • Wire strippers, soldering iron if you're fancy, electrical tape if you're not.
    STEPS:
    • Take the strand of connectors from your PSU, and decide which one will be the donator for this overclocking adventure.
    • Cut the yellow and orange cables, then twist them together.
    • Find the power connector you've chosen as the overclocking connector, and release the orange cable from the connector. Now use your preferred method to bind them together, then place it back together.
    • Plug in a drive and feel the speed!
Congratulations! You've just overclocked your hard drive!
