Windows 10: Will I lose Microsoft 365 rights after W10P fresh install?

Hello,

I've looked all over for this answer so wanted to post it here in hopes of an answer.

So I built my first PC. Awesome! I didn't buy W10 but instead downloaded FROM MICROSOFT the non-genuine/non-activated kind. Kicking myself now, not sure if anyone has had issues with it. Everything is working fine but I'd like to upgrade to W10 Pro. I took advantage of PCWorld's June 2020 sale for $39.95 and got my key. Of course, based on what they tell me AFTER I buy it, and much else online, you can't upgrade from non-genuine W10 to W10P. Microsoft throws error messages.

I really don't want to do a fresh install due to losing many program files but I believe the Pro key would work that way. I also have a genuine Microsoft (Office) 365 subscription (not Office 2016) and have downloaded it to my PC. I've heard once you do a fresh windows install it wipes your Office registry and you may not be able to redownload Office to your PC.

1. Will I lose my Program Files if I do a fresh install?
2. Will I lose ability to download Office 365?

Windows 10 and Microsoft 365

Right... Microsoft Makes Office 365, so that's exactly what I meant. And Yes I have Windows 8.1, however does it upgrade to the full version of Windows 10 or is it a limited version.

 

Cortana & Office 365 Integration

We are trying to integrate Cortana with our Office 365 subscription, but it never works. Here are the steps we have done:

• Turned on Cortona in the Office 365 Admin portal
• We are using Windows 10 1703 – connected Office 365 service to Cortana

Did the same on windows 10 mobile with no luck, Cortana says its connected to Office 365, but sees no data and we are getting zero errors

We went rough office 365 support first and tried all fo their suggestions, they kicked us over to Windows support which is currently closed.

We are on v1703 with all updates in place, it does not work on Windows 10 desktop or mobile

any ideas? I can give you all steps 365 support had us run through if that will be helpful

Fresh Install

So im gonna do a fresh windows 10 install tomorrow but i have installed microsoft office 365 that only has one use so if i do the fresh install will i have to buy it again?
