    Will I lose support

I have a DELL Inspiron 15-3576 laptop, new (from Currys PC World) on 19th Nov. 2018, with Windows 10 Home (64-bit) OS installed. It has a Core i5-8250U CPU and a 256GB SK Hynix SC311 SATA SSD.

As at 28th Feb. 2019 the OS is still version 1803 although Windows Updates (WUs) has changed the build so it is now build 17134.590. All drivers are up to date. The regular checks for updates by the OS do not find the upgrade to the October 2018 Feature Update v1809.

I know Microsoft (MS) have said they will upgrade machines when they feel it is safe to do so after the October 2018 upgrade to v1809 debacle but I would have thought a laptop bought in November 2018 would have no issues. Also the DELL website lists my machine as being suitable for the upgrade to v1809 and the Intel display drivers are not those listed by MS as problematic. I know it has an 8th Generation CPU but I would have thought Intel and MS would have planned ahead re 8th Gen CPUs.

I can’t believe that DELL would sell laptops in November 2018 with an OS that MS can’t upgrade and will no longer support 1 year later. I believe that about 72% of Windows 10 users are still (Feb. 2019) on v1803 but I am concerned that support for v1803 ends on 12th November 2019 and also another upgrade to v1903 is due around April 2019 time so MS need to get their skates on.

Question 1 – Is it likely that MS will delay the release of v1903 until everyone is on v1809 first?

Question 2 - Should I be worried that MS will not upgrade my DELL laptop OS before support for v1803 expires in Nov. 2019 or, due to their mess-up, are MS likely to extend the support period?

Question 3 – Is it possible that MS will upgrade machines from v1803 to v1903, missing out the problematic v1809?

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

  3. B3 Phenom support

I checked gigabyte's site on my GA-M57 and it didn't say anything about b3 stepping update, but all of the x3 chips are b3 steppings, so just use the x3 support bios if available.

    SuSe 10.2 MP3 support ?'s

I can help here... but only via a site where I found this before. I can't even remember the site, but search in Google for "Hacking SUSE 10.2"

The first site that pops up will list the steps necessary to add MP3 support(and other plug-ins and DVD support) to SUSE.
