Windows 10: Will manual update delete my files?

I need to update my windows 10 to 1903 but the update gets failed everytime I try from settings. So I just wanted to know if I download latest version from microsoft website and update it will I lose files? Thanks.

why not just sort the folder by file size and manually delete all the tiny ones every now and then?

Why don't the old versions of software get deleted when updating?

Most of the Microsoft ones are looked at as updates.
The Java ones... you have to delete the versions you don't want.

There are ways to clean up the listing... manually or by some software.

EDIT: Some is poorly written software that does not clean up after itself, too.
