Windows 10: Will microsoft come up with an operating system that does not have cortana and other...

I find the I do not want to talk to my computer, nore do I wish my other devices to be integrated with my computer.

Is there ever going to be another operating system like win XP?

I still have to use my old computers for my most favorite games, and have to use them as stand alones.

The new updates are so intrusive and of no use to me.

In post 26 there were steps listed to fix the operating system corruption.
Are you able to follow them?
In post 29 was the suggested dism repair command.

No Cortana Icon on Microsoft Edge

Hi Praveen,

It is possible that the Show search and site suggestions as I type option in Microsoft Edge isn't enabled which explains why the Cortana icon is not visible. To check, follow these steps:

• Open Microsoft Edge.
• Click the Menu button (...).
• Click Settings.
• Scroll down and click View advanced settings.
• 
  Turn on the toggle switch for the Have Cortana assist me in Microsoft Edge
  option.
  
• 
  Turn on the toggle switch for the Show search and site suggestions as I type option.
