Will moving libraries to another drive cause software issues?

Windows contains an option to move the locations of libraries (Documents, Music, Videos, Downloads, etc) to another drive or partition. However, some of the folders already have files put there automatically by programs I have installed. For example, here is a picture of my "Documents" folder:

As you can see, several programs have stored some of their folders there. If I move the folder from drive C to drive F (using the steps outlined in this article, will I encounter any issues with these programs in the future?

    :)

You sure can, it's actually just as easy as drag-and-drop it to the new location.

Will moving libraries to another drive cause software issues?

    Hello hbenthow, *Smile

If the folders are all in your "%UserProfile%\Documents" folder, then you could move your Documents folder instead of trying to move the Documents library and risk breaking the library. This way it'll still be included in the library as well.

Actually, I was referring to the method described in that thread you linked to (as well as the article I linked to in the OP). Maybe moving the libraries was the wrong term to use. I'm trying to move the folders, just as demonstrated in that thread (through the option in Properties).

Will this cause issues with the programs that have already stored files and/or folders in my folders?

It hasn't created any issues with the programs that store folders in them for me so far.

If you do have an issue with a program, check to see if that program may have a setting to specify where its folder is located at to be able to change it the new location.
