    Will MS fix virtual drive loss after updating to windows 10 1803?


    I have tried three times in about two weeks and even the latest patch (the one after 4467702) does not fix the situation. I cannot mount any virtual drives with Alcohol 120% if I update to 1803. I have updates disabled now and forever if this is not fixed. I thought 1809 was out but not showing for me yet on my OEM Windows 10 Pro license.

    Yeah, I've been noting it for months on the refusenik thread. They do NOT want anything older than 10 running.

    I still have an HTPC on W7, and every other month I have to fix the update agent in order to get all updates. SMH....

    You provided a good step by step fix. I've bookmarked it for future reference.

    I'm scratching my head then, because so far every computer I update to 1803, even fresh installs, can no longer read the details of mkv files. But at least icaros fixes the problem for now. Hopefully the bug is fixed in Windows natively eventually.
