    Will not boot from a different drive


    I am on Windows 10. I originally had two drives, a storage ssd and a smaller boot ssd. I just installed a brand new m.2 in my machine, and installed windows on it. I tried to format my original boot ssd afterwards, but to no avail. The new drive boot into Windows once upon installation, but since then I have been unable to boot into Windows from my m.2, only my original boot drive. It is not listed as a bootable device from my bios, but I can see the Windows, and Program Files folders in my directories when booting from my original drive.How can I boot from my new drive?How can I format my ori

    Will post - no boot

    Have you tried to plug the hard drive into a different sata port? Use a different cable?
    Seems kinda silly but I have fixed issues with booting by trying these steps first.

    Can't boot from DVD drive

    Is your controller in RAID/AHCI modes? If so, the DVD drive will be listed as a separate device in the list of available boot devices, not as "CDROM". Remember that when setting boot device priority. Otherwise, read the manual to see which hotkey during POST brings up the boot menu that lets you select which device to boot from. Even here, the drive will be listed separately, and not as "CDROM".
