    Will not wake from sleep

Thank you for the reply. Your instructions were excellent and I was able to follow them to the letter. I also made sure that the mice being used were also set to wake from sleep. These steps did not do anything to help the situation. When my computer
goes to sleep, nothing will wake it up. The fans are still running and I believe the drives are still spinning. The reset must be depressed or the Power Button must be depressed and held until the computer shuts off.

I have looked at the options to correct the Sleep and the Shut Down problems on this Forum and other Forums. I have searched the web and so far NOTHING I have found does anything to eliminate the problem.

What I am now doing, and recommending to anyone who asks me about this, is to set the sleep time to NEVER. If you want you could remove Sleep from the Power Options. Next is to do a Shut Down the normal way and when this is finished and the computer fans
and maybe the drives are still working, you now depress the Power Button and hold it until the computer shuts completely down. Setting Sleep to NEVER is a necessity due to the fact that you will walk away from the computer at some time and when you return
you will be unable to wake it and if you had something on teh screen that was not saved, it is gone. The monitor should be set to a short time to turn off.

I hope that Microsoft finds the problems and issues an update to correct it.

    will not wake again

There was a supposed fix for this in this month's update on the 9th. I haven't had it happen since then but I don't use W10 most of the time.

Since I can't use my PC while I sleep, I see no point to keep it ON 24/7 unless you are one that runs a auto backup every night as some companies do just that or run a MS Defender scan which can easily take all night. Thank goodness I got Webroot to install so I don't need to do that! *Smile

  7. I understand: But it is recomended to fully test this preview as I am doing.to pick up Glitches and bugs like this one. also most of the auto updates are performed overnight.
In real life there may a lot of reasons to leave a system switched on overnight especially if your on a network.
As I said I see your point. But theidea of beta or preview testing IS TO TRY AND BREAK it Iron out bugs ready for RTM distribution.

  9. How would you perform a major upgrade or update in an office network environment: would you want to go around switching on every users machine?. NO you tell them to leave there machines on that day and upgrade them all from the server overnight .this is just one for instance as to why: it is not just Apps at all that bugs have been reported on. What about the HDD, Keyboard problems etc.

Hey, you can leave your PC ON while you go on a two week vacation if you want to but some people leave them them ON for no good reason like in a Android forum where one user stated that they never shut their tab OFF because they could. I don't know about every issue that's been posted in this this forum or anyplace else because I just don't read every thread in every section. In fact, there have been features, options, etc. mentioned that I never knew about!

My brother-in-law worked a Chrysler in the design department where they had signs, "Do not turn off PC's" because they backup every night. Leaving PC's ON all the time seems to be a touchy subject for many so I'll "try" not question that anymore in the future.

  12. I've used at least 4 different motherboards from 3 different manufacturers and I've never been able to wake my PC using a USB keyboard/mouse running any version of Windows (or Linux Mint).
No combination of BIOS or OS settings seems to have any effect.

I can only wake my PC if I use a PS/2 device (or the Power switch).

In fact, I can't recall seeing USB wake up work on any PC (my TAFE has 100s of PCs).

It will work if the USB port has power when in a sleep state. Some LT have that because I have one if the receiver is plugged in the port that is not live it will not wake the LT (wireless mouse and keyboard).
