Hello, my school has decided to give away the laptops that were issued to students because they have new ones rolling in. I'm glad, but disappointed that the only thing I can do on it is browse the internet. I don't have administrator privileges and my school made it so that most apps cannot be run on it. Not to mention, the computer I'm making this post on is extremely low end and can barely run anything at all. The laptop is significantly better but like I said it can't do much. I looked up instructions and am using the Windows Repair menu but I'm not exactly sure what will get rid of the co

No restart button in task manager

another easy way to kill tasks, download and install Winaero Tweaker(free) and theres a setting to add a Kill non responding tasks using the desktop right click menu. When you place your cursor on the desktop anywhere and right click the option is at the top of the list, Very handy and you dont have to go through all those steps and well Winaero Tweaker has alot of cool Windows tweaks. Just posting a different suggestion, Im sure your ok with what was suggested here.

 

Reset Button Not Working

Hi,
Exactly what tittle says. That's been bugging me for a while now but I couldn't find any information related to the issue so I just ignored it.
Today I had to use the button to reset because I messed up doing something and system froze. Well like always before I force shut down I try to reset but it never works.
This is exactly what happens: I press the reset button then the system pretends to be restarting but it never boots, no beeps no image or anything and thats it.
Been using power button restart if system freezes.
Checked the connections in the motherboard and everything is correctly connected.
Could it be some option in the bios ?

Alright in that case, I would suggest this:

• Right-click the Start button (a popup menu should open)
• Begin holding down the shift key.
• While still holding down the Shift key, click Power option (but keep on holding down the Shift key)
• While continuing to still hold the Shift key, click the Restart option on the popup menu
• Continue holding Shift until the next screen appears
• Choose Troubleshooting, Advanced, then Reset
