Windows 10: Will the remaining battery time on Windows 10 ever be resolved?

Dear team,Its a piety that a very basic requirement of remaining time on Windows 10 while unplugged is not available as a percentage does not really help in anyway.Why has there not been a permanent fix to this or least provide it as an option to the users to decide?I hope there is a solution to this ever long standing query since years now and even the most google searched query.Regards,F W

1. When did it start to happen?
2. Are you getting the same issue on a different user profile?
3. What is the current build and version of your Windows 10?
4. Have you made any changes on your computer prior to the issue?

In the meantime, try the following suggestions:

Suggestion 1: Enable Battery Remaining Time in
BIOS.

You need to contact your device manufacturer for the assistance on how to access and modify your BIOS settings.

In your BIOS settings, you will see Battery Remaining Time under System Configuration. Enable it and then save and exit BIOS to take effect.

Suggestion 2: Download and install and the latest device driver. Go to your device manufacturer's support webpage to check if there are available driver update for your device.

Suggestion 3: Install all the sugested cumulative and security updates. Bugs from previous build can be fixed by installing updates.

Suggestion 4: Some laptops will only show time remaining when charger is not connected. Check if charger is connected.

Hi,

Battery remaining time feature was removed in windows fall creators update & so on so the only to enable was the above workaround provided since the above is also not working so I would suggest you try the below to fix any corrupted files then apply the workaround
in the above article.

Step 1:

Go to Search box next to windows icon and type CMD

Step 2:

Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator

Step 3:

Type sfc /scannow & press enter

Step 4;

After the above completes restart PC and apply the workaround in the below article.

Restart PC & wait for some time to calibrate the battery and then verify

Please try these suggestions:

1. Make sure date and time are correct in Windows 10 as well as in BIOS settings.

2. Reinstall Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under Device Manager with these steps

• Open Device Manager.
• Expand “Batteries” section.
• Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”
• Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.
• Close Device Manager.

3. Run Power troubleshooter from Settings app > Update & security > Troubleshoot

4. Update BIOS firmware to latest version.

5. If issue still persists, try replacing your battery with new one.
