will the windows 11 taskbar eventually allow multirows again?

Screen estate matters, especially on smaller notebook displays. For this, I always use autohide on the taskbar. With autohide on, it makes very much sense to have a multirow taskbar, so that every item on the taskbar can be seen clearly, and tray items can be accessed directly. So I always have all my tray items to be visible at a glance.NO HIDDEN ICON MENU!I have many tray icons and to see them all at once is a usability and also a security issue. Thus, I definitely want a multi-rowed taskbar. And I want a setting to always show all tray icons without the hassle to configure them one by one.It is

  2. Will my processor eventually be supported by Windows 11?

My processor is not on the list of supported processors for Windows 11 (Intel Core i7-6700). I'm pretty sure it meets the requirements. It just isn't on the list. Is the list being expanded as untested processors are tested? How can I know if my processor will eventually be supported by Windows 11?

Windows 11 taskbar icons not working

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I appreciate your interest in Windows 11. I understand that Taskbar icons are not working after upgrading to Windows 11. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.

    However, please let us know:

    1. What happens when you click on an icon on the Taskbar?
    2. Do you receive any error message/code?
    3. Does this issue occur with all the icons?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to try re-registering the taskbar and see if that works. Kindly follow the steps mentioned below.

    1. Press Windows + X keys together and click on Windows PowerShell (Admin)
    2. Now type in the following command and hit Enter: Get-AppXPackage -User ([System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity]::GetCurrent().Name) *ShellExperienceHost* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
    3. Restart the PC once the command is complete.

If the issue persists, you can try creating a new user account and then see if you are able to access the icons on the Taskbar.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,

  4. will the windows 11 taskbar eventually allow multirows again?

I want to ungroup items on my taskbar. Windows 11. Windows 10 allowed that.

Ungrouping Taskbar items, like many taskbar functionalities, is not available in Windows 11, yet.

A 3rd party alternative called ExplorerPatcher may help you in the meantime.

Improve Windows 11 Taskbar functionality using these tools - Your Windows Guide

ExplorerPatcher, a 3rd party tool that aims to bring the older Windows 10 styled functionality in the Windows 11 Taskbar by just adding DLL files in 3 specific directories of WIndows. Because the older code is still present in Windows 11, by putting the DLL file, the Windows 10 styled taskbar is enabled. Some of the functionalities the developer claims the is restored:

    • Restores Windows 10 styled taskbar menu.
    • Restore Windows+X context menu.
    • Show app list by default in Start menu.
    • Ability for start menu and search to align left and many more
