Version of Windows prior to 11 allowed adjusting file associations at the will of the user, but Windows 11 is lacking that option. In particular the JPG and PNG associations don't allow setting a default. The option when using Open With from Explorer only shows "Just Once" as the only choice.If the Photo's application is repaired from the Installed App section Settings --> Apps --> Photos --> Advanced Options --> Repair then the option to change the default file association to another application works as expected.Here's the menu after running the repair....Did a bug in first

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows Explorer Replacement?

are you running IE7? if not that wouold be my first suggestion,upgrade to ie7 that can fix some stability issues with windows explorer

 

Explorer 11 bug

Ran into this problem on a client PC at work today. IE 11 broke flash embeds on certain sites. I fixed my problem (yahoo in this case) by enabling compatibility mode for that site only. This is a spread out issue with people from all over talking about it apparently it happened in a recent patch. my way worked for me but others suggest changing the activeX filtering in the safety tab.
