Will this Mobo Support an Nvidia 1080?

I plan to build a gaming dedktop. I'll be buying an MSI mobo whose link is below. I want to know 2 things:

    1) Will this mobo be good enough for an Nvidia 1080?

    2) For a PSU, how many watts will I need to run an Nvidia 1080 on it?

Should work with no issues that board also supports DDR3 I believe which would make things faster.

Will this Mobo Support an Nvidia 1080?

    1. It should be.

    2. Start with 450Watts but look at the specs for the card to assure the PSU is adequate, may need to go as high as 750Watts.

eVGA recommends a minimum of a 500W PSU for a base 1080. (It also needs a single 8 pin PCI-E power connector.) The 1080 is listed as having a maximum power draw of 180W.

You may want more margin if you're interested in overclocking.

As you list a micro ATX board. you need to check whether the card might be too long for the board. I expect it'd be OK, but I haven't checked the details.

Hi bobkn. Appreciate the reply. Just to let you know, I don't I plan on OCing. IMy PC Parts List is linked below for your reference as to the gaming desktop I want to build.

    Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core, GeForce GTX 1080 8GB - Lighter Rig w/ New MSI Mobo - s Saved Part List - PCPartPicker

Now, I need to know if I could substitute the i5 6500 with an i5 that's lower priced but future proof for gaming. Let me know your suggestion.

And here's a link to a 27 inch monitor I want to get. Its 8ms, which I hope is good enough for gamimg. I particularly like it because its semi glossy and I love glossy monitors. Let me know what you think or if you have other suggestions on buying another monitor.
